Before Surgery
Today is October 18, 2001. Mommy and Grandma Debbie took me to St. Louis Children's Hospital for my surgery.We had to be there at 6:15 in the morning!! You were very good and didn't fuss at all!!

During Surgery
The doctors and nurses took you back me the operating room around 8:30 in the morning!! Mommy and Grandma had tears in their eyes!!The surgery was to take only about and hour. Procedure:
The doctor, Dr. Gordon, made an incision into the back of my right heel. He then cut the tendons in my heel so that I could have more movement in my foot. Afterwards, he put my right leg in a cast!! At about 9:30 the nurses called Mommy and Grandma back to the recovery room.
After Surgery
When Mommy and Grandma came back to the recovery room, I was sucking my thumb!! I suprised Mommy because I had never done that before!!The anesthesia that they used knocked me out good though!! It took about 2 hours for me to actually wake up and eat something!! Just for your information, make sure to always bring your child's favorite clear fluid to drink because this Children's Hospital didn't have any Cherry flavored Pedialyte!! I didn't like the non-flavored kind!!
Mommy and Grandma were very proud of me!!
